Terms of Use

Honukeiki is a guide, not a safety authority.
Always check the lifeguard flag, official posted signage, and live conditions on arrival. Forecasts and water-quality data can be wrong, out of date, or change quickly.
No safety guarantee
Ocean and weather conditions on Oʻahu can change very quickly. The conditions Honukeiki displays are aggregated from third-party sources (NWS, Open-Meteo, PacIOOS, Hawaiʻi DOH Clean Water Branch) and may be stale, incomplete, or incorrect. Honukeiki makes no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose. Use of this site does not replace common sense, lifeguard guidance, or official advisories.
Limitation of liability
Honukeiki and its operator are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from the use of this site, including decisions made based on the information presented. You assume all risk of going to any beach, park, or outdoor area listed here.
Source attribution
Honukeiki displays data from the National Weather Service (NWS), Open-Meteo, PacIOOS, and the Hawaiʻi Department of Health Clean Water Branch. We do not control these sources and their data may change without notice. Every signal on a place page links back to its source for verification — please use those links to verify before relying on the information.
No scraping or republishing
Honukeiki does not scrape or re-host content from HawaiiBeachSafety.com, tourism blogs, or other rights-managed sources. Beach descriptions here are original. Place imagery, when present, is either licensed (Wikimedia Commons CC-BY-SA, with attribution) or owned.
Visitor tracking
We log basic request information (IP address, user agent, URLs, timestamps) for operational purposes and to deter spam. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Hawaiian culture & place names
We honor Hawaiian orthography (ʻokina, kahakō) in place names and copy. If you spot an error, please tell us via Contact Us.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
